Lane is a 21 year old singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada. She composes and arranges all of her music and plays piano, guitar, bass, drums and ukulele. To date, she has written over 40 original songs. Other than piano, Lane is a self-taught instrumentalist, lyricist and composer.
Lane’s been involved in music programs since early childhood. She joined her first school choir in grade 3, regularly performed at talent shows and was presented with the Music Award at her eighth-grade graduation.
Lane continued to perform extensively with choirs throughout high school and was inspired by her music teacher Carol Ratzlaff who invited her to join Viva! Youth Singers of Toronto in 2015. She recently appeared as “Gwen”, a leading role in the world premiere of “The Sword in the Schoolyard” by renowned Canadian opera composer/librettist Dean Burry.
When she finally went into the studio, Lane knew exactly what she wanted and co-produced the initial sessions. She later took the knowledge she’d gained & produced the rest of the tracks on the album herself. “Light”, the albums concluding song, is her inaugural video release.
Lane is currently attending Wilfrid Laurier University and is finishing up her studies in music in preparation for becoming a music teacher.
